Directions
- Place piñon in a large container, rinse with water, add salt and water, stir, and allow mixture to stand for 10-20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Drain water, Place piñon in a shallow baking pan, spread thin, roast piñon in a 350° F oven for approximately 15 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- Test occasionally for doneness, the nut meat should be slightly underdone as the heat of the shell will continue to cook the nut meat while cooling.
